Palais Hansen Kempinski, Vienna
Expert reviews
Frommers review:

“Inside a building designed by Theophil Edvard von Hansen for the 1873 World Expo, the lobby appears as a bright atrium, with skylights beaming onto the tasteful lounge area and reflecting off intricate chandeliers. This place is luxurious, but without the Old-World pomp of some of its Ringstrasse peers.”

Featured as Frommer’s Exceptional Choice in Vienna.

Fodors review:

“A commanding presence on the quieter part of Ring, the opulent edifice was a masterpiece of architect Theophil Hansen. The design blends Hansen’s 19th Century beauty with 21st Century sensibilities.”

Featured as Fodor’s Choice in Vienna.

Telegraph review:

“A polished example of how history and modernity can gracefully coincide. The beating heart of this orange-hued Viennese palais, located just inside the Ringstraße, is the glossy lobby-lounge, where guests can be found enjoying loose-leaf tea and warm apfelstrudel to the rustling of newspapers and quiet lull of jazz.”
